The Mustard Seed

Father Damaschin, through the association "Voice of Life" (“Glasul Vietii”) supports single mothers, orphaned children, and families in difficulty, providing them with access to education, medical services, food, clothing, and shelter. With the help of donors and volunteers, Father Damaschin transforms the lives of those who are in greatest need of support.

Currently, he is preparing for school 10,553 children with everything they need: clothes, backpacks, school supplies, shoes, and food.

Here’s Fr. Damaschin’s words :

“Father, are there really 10,533 children? And every year?

Yes, there are.

And they are not just numbers on a list. They are real children, with bright eyes and torn clothes. They are children I have seen hungry, barefoot, sad. Children who sleep three on a mattress, who walk kilometers on foot to get to school, who share a single pair of shoes between siblings.

We dress them year after year because their need does not disappear after a campaign. Their hunger returns. The growth does not stop. School demands clean clothes, shoes on their feet, backpacks with books, not empty bags. We dress them because otherwise no one takes them to the store. Because their parents have no resources, and people often look and move on.

We dress them because every child on that list is a soul that God has put in our path. And if we are not their support, who will be? We dress them because we know that from a dressed child, a whole person can emerge. A person with dignity, with education, with a heart, who tomorrow will do good further.

I know it’s a lot. I know it’s hard. But even Christ carried the cross on his back without asking 'why so many?' and we carry our cross, alongside you, with sacrifice, but also with joy. That’s why we clothe 10,533 children. Because they need it. And because we cannot remain indifferent.

Shall we go further? Do we give a grain of mustard?”
